Photographing an airbnb is a lot like real estate photography, where we focus on showing the width of the rooms, and the layout of the space – it also takes this creative process one step further by focusing in on all of the little details. We will initially make one pass through the property with an ultra wide angle prime lens, showing the space, and then a second pass with a 50mm f/0.95 to blur out the background, and bring the viewer’s attention into the ultra fine details. When you’re buying a house, you want to see the walls, but when you’re staying at an Airbnb, you want to envision the experience of living in that environment, even if for a short period of time.
With a similar approach to our photography, we start with an ultra wide angle on a Hollywood style stabilization system – filming the width of each room, and what it’s like to walk through it. We then make a second pass with a 35mm f/1.2, and focus on all of the minute details. These clips are filmed in 4K at 120FPS, in 10bit color depth and 4:2:2 compression ratios. This allows us to slow every single shot down to 5X slow-motion, giving an ultra smooth experience, with incredibly vibrant colors, while delivering in a 4K resolution. We then take these slowed down clips, and time them to a hand selected and commercially licensed song for your brand.
Our 3D Matterport Tours are captured with the latest technology in the 360 camera space, and give your clients the layout of the space. From anywhere in the world, your clients can digitally walk through your space and know exactly where everything is.
